Nissan Note - 'A good all-round package'
Nissan's Note is a versatile alternative for drivers considering buying either a hatchback or a small MPV, a motoring expert has said.Parker's reviewer describes the Note as a "good all-round package" and is particularly impressed by the car's interior, which is "clever, family-friendly and flexible".The driving position is comfortable and the controls user friendly, while there is a surprising amount of legroom in the rear seats for what appears from the outside to be quite a small vehicle. The performance of the 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines is good both around town and on longer journeys, although Parker's is less impressed with the 1.5 diesel's showing on the motorway.Auto Express' assessor disagrees and describes the diesel as "smooth and refined", although he is not totally satisfied with the Note's gearbox.New prices of £9,990 to £14,190 are competitive and running costs are low, while the results of a recent Which? Car customer satisfaction survey named the Note as the most reliable mini MPV on the market. That combination of positives makes the small Nissan an attractive option for buyers who would ordinarily be more interested in the Renault Modus, Ford Focus or Vauxhall's Meriva and Astra models, concludes Parker's.The entry level 1.4 S is in motor insurance group four, while the top of the range 1.6 SVE Auto is in group six.Drivers could save up to 39.7 per cent on their car insurance with Kwik-Fit Insurance, according to research conducted last year.© Adfero Ltd Other Recent Car makes ArticlesVolkswagen Golf Plus - 'Spacious and good to drive' Citroen C3 Pluriel - 'Versatile and fun' Mitsubishi Outlander - 'A 4x4 with car-like handling' Volkswagen Touran - 'A fine family car' Renault Clio - 'The benchmark for superminis' Kia c'eed - 'Well built and easy to drive' Citroen C4 Picasso - 'Striking and practical' Alfa Romeo 159 - 'Sporty and stylish' .
